What do an engineer, computer scientist and a political liaison have in common?
The desire to create the ultimate in quality entertainment and a genuine love for music and the arts. While attending their respective colleges in the Atlanta area, Michael Lee, a graduate of Georgia Tech; and Jakita Owensby and Nicole Williams, both Spelman graduates, would eventually be brought together by their love of music.

Michael, an aspiring emcee hooked up with Jakita, an aspiring singer, in the summer of 1994. In 1996, Jakita met and forged a strong friendship with fellow musician Nicole, both members of the renown Spelman College Jazz Ensemble. Their friendship blossomed and in March of 2002, the three set out to create a company that would change the face of entertainment and raise the standard in the music industry. Melting Pot Entertainment, LLC was formed. Operating on a shoestring budget, the three used their individual and collective talents to build the company into a competitive entity in the entertainment industry.

Michael, along with being a successful chemical engineer, masters the microphone like no other. On stage he transforms from mild mannered Michael to MELEE. Born in Albany, Georgia and raised in Jonesboro, Michael is MPE's financial guru bringing focus to the everyday operations of the company (to learn more about MELEE, visit his page).

Hailing from "The Dec" also known as "Decatur where it's greater", Georgia, Jakita also known as j. nicole, brings a variety of skills to MPE. A computer scientist by trade (and currently a doctoral candidate at Georiga Tech that's ABD--all but dissertation), she has a keen sense for all things technical. An expert researcher, Jakita is also a self-taught musician and, along with Michael, produces much of MPE's music. However, her true talent comes out when she picks up a microphone and commences to tearing the house down with her powerful voice (to learn more about j. nicole, check out her page).

Nicole, affectionately known as Nickdiggit, is a trained percussionist and pianist having received her undergraduate degree in Ethnomusicology. Along with her musical abilities she has the gift of gab having received her Masters in Communications Management. Her ability to network and make contacts has helped put MPE on the map.

Together, they make a dynamic team poised to make a lasting impact on popular culture.
